Enjoy the Jersey City Fireworks For a Less Crowded Celebration
If you’re like me, seeking a quieter and less crowded alternative to the bustling Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks, look no further than the Jersey City fireworks display. Located just across the Hudson River, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the fireworks from the serene Hudson River Park.
Bring a blanket, food, and wine, and find a cozy spot along the waterfront to relax with your loved ones and witness the spectacular show as colorful bursts light up the night sky. Embrace the peaceful ambiance while still reveling in the festive spirit of Independence Day.
While Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks are the most famous New York Fourth of July Fireworks, they are the most crowded too. They can be exhausting as you must arrive earlier to secure a good spot, and getting out with thousands of people around again becomes a problem. If you’re traveling with children and, like myself, are introverted or would like to avoid crowds but still enjoy spectacular Fourth of July fireworks in New York, Jersey City is a great option. I’ve picked that option for the last several years (excluding the pandemic) and never regretted it.
Where: the best viewing spots anywhere from Rockefeller Park to Pier 40 across the Hudson River Park. I’ve watched the Jersey City Fireworks from the rooftop park at Pier 57. Even though you see from a distance, the panoramic view of Lower Manhattan and the fireworks are spectacular. It is just a different perspective!
